The energy reduction aspects of this bulb is that it uses around just 10% of the power that incandescent bulbs use. That is because they do not waste energy in unwanted heat production that is required from incandescent bulbs due to light production being produced through the heating up of a metal filament. This reduction of wasted heat is what allows LED bulbs to produce the same levels of lights as incandescent bulbs while using as much as 90% less energy!
